At Mariana Astúa Makeup we respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through marianaastuamakeup.com, how we use it, and what your rights are, in accordance with Costa Rica’s Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals Regarding the Processing of Personal Data.

What data we collect
- Information you provide through our contact form: name, email, phone number, type of service, event date and message.
- Information you share when you contact us via WhatsApp, email or social media.
- If you purchase an online class: your name, email, billing details and student account data (username, classes purchased and lesson progress). Your card details are processed directly by our payment gateway; we never see or store them.
- Technical browsing data, such as device type, browser, pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
How we use it
- To answer your inquiries and send you quotes.
- To coordinate bookings, makeup trials and the details of your service.
- To process online class purchases, create your account, give you access to My Beauty Library and send you purchase confirmations and related notices.
- To improve our website based on visitor statistics.
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for other purposes without your consent.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers needed to run our website and services: web hosting (GoDaddy), payment processing (ONVO), class video hosting and playback, analytics (Jetpack/WordPress.com and Google Analytics), email (Google) and messaging (WhatsApp/Meta). Some of these providers process data outside Costa Rica under their own security measures. We may also share data when legally required by a competent authority.
Affiliate links and external sites
Some pages include links to external stores, such as ShopMy. Some are affiliate links: if you buy through them, Mariana Astúa Makeup may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those stores have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.
Cookies
We use our own and third-party cookies so the site works properly (for example, to keep you signed in and remember your cart) and to collect statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some features of the site may not work as intended.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as needed to handle your inquiry, service or purchase, and while your student account remains active. Afterwards, only for as long as required by legal or accounting obligations.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction, updating or deletion of your data, withdraw your consent, or ask us to close your student account at any time, by writing to contacto@marianaastuamakeup.com. We will respond within the timeframes set by law. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may contact Costa Rica’s Data Protection Agency (PRODHAB).
Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect your data, including a secure connection (HTTPS), protected access and regular backups. However, no system is completely infallible.
Minors
This website is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy at any time. The current version will always be published on this page with its last updated date.
